Islamabad:PTI leader Latif Khosa has labeled the recently introduced Election Act Amendment Bill as malicious. The bill, presented in the National Assembly yesterday, has been referred to the relevant standing committee by the Speaker.
Latif Khosa condemned the bill, asserting that it is intended to facilitate party switching with ill intentions. He vowed that the PTI would not allow the bill to pass through the standing committee under any circumstances.
In parallel, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar accused the National Assembly of passing the bill through unconstitutional means. He highlighted that PTI had secured 50% of the total votes and that 41 MNAs had submitted affidavits. Despite these affidavits, actions are still being taken against their MNAs. Gohar called on the Election Commission to issue notifications for the remaining MPAs.
He further expressed hope that the Supreme Court would enforce its decisions and requested protection for their members.
