Pakistan-Russia Relations Should Not Upset the West, Says Energy Minister
Islamabad: Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Owais Ahmed Khan Leghari has stated that the West should not be upset by Pakistan’s growing ties with Russia, emphasizing that these relations are not meant to harm anyone or go against any country’s interests.
In an interview with Russian media, Leghari clarified that the objective of Pakistan-Russia relations is to benefit the people of both nations, and these relations are not aimed at causing harm to any party. He pointed out that the strengthening of ties between the two countries would bring mutual economic benefits.
Leghari also highlighted that a trial cargo train service between Pakistan and Russia is set to begin in March, marking a step forward in enhancing bilateral trade and connectivity. Furthermore, discussions are underway to establish direct air services between the two nations, aiming to boost people-to-people contact and facilitate business exchanges.
The Minister also mentioned that Pakistan stands to gain from closer regional cooperation within the BRICS framework, which could further benefit the country in terms of economic growth and strategic partnerships.
