India suffered three major defeats in the world of cricket on the same day as their men’s, U-19 men’s, and women’s teams all faced losses in separate matches.
Men’s Team Defeated by Australia in Second Test
In the second Test match of the series, India’s men’s team was defeated by Australia by 10 wickets, leveling the five-match series at 1-1. The match, held in Adelaide, ended on Sunday after just three days of play, with Australia chasing down a target of 19 runs without losing any wickets.
In India’s first innings, they were bowled out for just 180 runs. Nitin Kumar Reddy was the top scorer with 42 runs, while Australia’s captain, Pat Cummins, claimed 5 wickets. Australia, in their first innings, made 337 runs, taking a 157-run lead over India.
In the second innings, India’s batting troubles continued as they were bowled out for 175 runs. Australia required just 19 runs to win, which they comfortably achieved with Nathan McSwiney and Usman Khawaja contributing the necessary runs.
India’s U-19 Team Loses to Bangladesh in Asia Cup Final
On the same day, India’s U-19 men’s team faced a crushing defeat in the final of the Asia Cup. Bangladesh triumphed by 59 runs to claim the title. In the final held in Dubai, Bangladesh posted 198 runs in 49.1 overs. India, in response, was bowled out for just 139 runs in 35.2 overs. India’s captain Mohammad Aman top-scored with 26 runs. Bangladesh’s Iqbal Hossain and Azizul Haque took three wickets each to dismantle India’s batting lineup.
Indian Women’s Team Defeated by Australia in Second ODI
In the third setback of the day, India’s women’s team was beaten by Australia by a massive margin of 122 runs in the second ODI in Brisbane. Australia posted a daunting total of 371/8 in their allotted 50 overs. In reply, India could only manage 249 runs in 44.5 overs, falling short of the target by 122 runs.
