ICC Releases New ODI Player Rankings: Virat Kohli Moves Up, Babar Azam Retains Second Spot

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has released the latest ODI player rankings, with India’s Virat Kohli advancing one spot to fifth position, while Pakistan’s Babar Azam maintains his place in second despite a recent dip in performance.
According to the updated rankings, India’s opening batsman Shubman Gill holds the top spot, with Babar Azam in second. Indian captain Rohit Sharma is ranked third, followed by Pakistan’s Mohammad Rizwan at 20th. South Africa’s Heinrich Klaassen is in fourth place, while New Zealand’s Daryl Mitchell is ranked sixth, and Ireland’s Harry Tector occupies the seventh spot. Sri Lanka’s Charith Asalanka is in eighth, India’s Shubham Ylias ranks ninth, and West Indies’ Shai Hope rounds out the top ten.
New Zealand’s maker Will Young climbed eight positions to reach 14th, while Pakistan’s Fakhar Zaman dropped three places to 18th.
In the bowler’s rankings, Pakistan’s Shaheen Afridi fell five spots to ninth, while Sri Lanka’s Maheesh Theekshana remains at number one. Australia’s Adam Zampa made a two-place jump to break into the top ten.
The rankings highlight significant movements in both batting and bowling categories, reflecting performances from the recent international matches.
