Dr Uzma Khan’s Statements Highlight Seriousness of Imran Khan’s Health Situation: Sher Afzal Marwat

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has said that statements by Dr Uzma Khan have highlighted the seriousness of concerns surrounding the health of PTI founder Imran Khan.
Addressing the National Assembly, Marwat said, “Your suffering lasted six months, while Imran Khan has been imprisoned for three years,” and questioned how long what he described as injustice would continue.
He called for an immediate end to what he termed oppression and injustice and demanded the release of Imran Khan and all other political prisoners.
Speaking to the media, Sher Afzal Marwat said the entire nation was deeply concerned over reports regarding Imran Khan’s health. He said Dr Uzma Khan’s statements had made the seriousness of the situation clear.
Marwat stressed that there should be no compromise on Imran Khan’s fundamental human rights, health and safety. He said PTI would raise its voice for his rights at every constitutional, legal and democratic forum.
He expressed hope that the courts would provide justice and the necessary relief soon.
Marwat said he had raised the issue of Imran Khan’s health in the National Assembly, stressing that medical treatment was a fundamental right of every person. He demanded that the necessary medical tests and treatment for Imran Khan be provided without delay.
He said the government had made an offer the previous day and PTI leadership had responded positively. According to Marwat, it would have been better if the issue of Imran Khan’s medical treatment had also been resolved amicably in the same environment.
