‘Imran Khan’s Condition Is Not Fine, He Is Being Treated Inhumanely,’ Claims Dr Uzma Khan
ISLAMABAD: Dr Uzma Khan, sister of PTI founder Imran Khan, became emotional during a press conference while describing her recent meeting with her brother, claiming that his condition was not satisfactory and that he was being subjected to inhumane treatment in jail.
Dr Uzma alleged that Imran Khan repeatedly asked her to inform the nation that he was being treated inhumanely and subjected to severe torture.
She said Imran Khan told her that no one in the jail listened to his concerns and that he repeatedly complained that he was being mistreated.
According to Dr Uzma, Imran Khan said he had repeatedly raised his difficulties with jail authorities, but no one paid attention to his complaints or appeared concerned about his situation.
Dr Uzma said she tried to reassure her brother, telling him that the entire nation stood with him and supported him.
She said she also told Imran Khan not to worry and assured him that those responsible for the alleged treatment would be held accountable.
Dr Uzma said she had informed Imran Khan that he was being taken to Shifa International Hospital, upon which he was pleased and said that he was going to the hospital.
She also rejected reports that Imran Khan had not been taken to Shifa International Hospital, saying the information being circulated in this regard was incorrect.
The allegations come amid ongoing controversy surrounding Imran Khan’s medical examination, his transfer from Adiala Jail and the hospital where he was examined. Government officials have maintained that he was medically examined by qualified doctors and was subsequently declared medically fit.
