Time Has Proved Political Tactics Cannot Eliminate Anyone: PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that time has proved that no political figure can be eliminated through political tactics, stressing that his party is also not in favor of politically sidelining anyone.

Speaking to the media at Parliament House, Barrister Gohar said that while political differences had their place, the country and democracy were more important.

He said that if the country was to move forward, the process should begin with the implementation of court orders. “Once court orders are implemented, there will be room for further progress,” he said, adding that compliance with judicial decisions would also help reduce political tensions in the country.

The PTI chairman reiterated that his party would never politicize the health of PTI founder Imran Khan or use his medical reports for personal or political purposes. He said Imran Khan’s health was the most important issue at present.

Barrister Gohar also called for resolving the health-related issues of Imran Khan’s wife, Bushra Bibi, saying that she too had the right to be transferred to a hospital and provided with appropriate medical facilities.

He urged the government to move toward dialogue instead of taking “short steps,” saying efforts should be made to resolve political differences through negotiations.

“There should be efforts to resolve political differences through dialogue, and there should be no statements that increase political tensions,” he said.

Barrister Gohar further said that ensuring the safety of the Army, police and Rangers was the foremost responsibility of every Pakistani.

“We do not want our security institutions to be exposed to any danger,” he said, adding that there should be no compromise on terrorism and that terrorism, wherever it occurs, must be condemned.
