No Ruckus Outside Shifa International Hospital, We Will Honor Our Commitment: Salman Akram Raja

Islamabad: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Barrister Salman Akram Raja has assured that the party will not hold gatherings or create any disturbance outside Shifa International Hospital following Imran Khan’s transfer there.

Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Salman Akram Raja said he had formally assured the Supreme Court, in his capacity as PTI secretary general, that party workers would not create any commotion outside the hospital.

“I have given an assurance to the court as secretary general. We must honor our commitment,” he said, urging all party leaders and workers to strictly follow the court’s directions.

Raja stressed that Imran Khan’s health is an extremely sensitive matter and must not be used for political purposes under any circumstances.

He further said that the higher judiciary had ordered Imran Khan’s immediate transfer to Shifa International Hospital in Islamabad, where a high-level medical board comprising specialists from relevant fields would be constituted to conduct a comprehensive examination and provide treatment.

The Supreme Court has also directed PTI not to politicize Imran Khan’s health and medical treatment. Under the court’s order, his sister Dr Uzma Khan and personal physician Dr Faisal Sultan will remain with him during his stay and medical examination at the hospital.

The expenses related to Imran Khan’s transfer, medical examination and treatment at the private hospital will be borne by his family.
