Balochistan Government Forms Judicial Commission to Probe Mangi Dam Attack in Ziarat

QUETTA: The Balochistan government has constituted a judicial commission to conduct a transparent inquiry into the terrorist attack on the Mangi Dam Pumping Station in Ziarat.
The commission, headed by Justice Muhammad Amir Nawaz Rana, has formally issued a public notice inviting relevant citizens and individuals to record their statements and submit evidence regarding the incident.
According to the notice, the commission will investigate possible shortcomings and negligence in security arrangements at the Mangi Dam Pumping Station and determine the causes of the deaths of police personnel during the attack. It will also examine other important aspects related to the incident.
The provincial government has invited citizens possessing information, evidence or any relevant testimony concerning the attack to appear before the commission and record their statements by August 28, 2026.
The families of police personnel who were killed in the attack, as well as other relevant individuals, will also be provided an opportunity to present their positions and submit evidence before the commission.
Individuals wishing to appear before the commission can contact the office of Commission Registrar Malik Shoaib Sultan at the Balochistan High Court on Hali Road, Quetta.
The notice states that anyone appearing before the commission must bring their original Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) along with one photocopy.
