21 Pakistani Taxi Drivers Reportedly Missing in Saudi Arabia
SARGODHA: Twenty-one young men from Sahiwal town and surrounding areas of Sargodha district have reportedly gone missing in Saudi Arabia, raising serious concerns among their families and local residents.
According to Dunya News, the families said all 21 men had travelled to Saudi Arabia on legal visas in search of employment and a better future. They were reportedly working as taxi drivers in different cities across the kingdom.
The families said all communication with the men was completely cut off on January 28 this year, and no information about their whereabouts has been received since then.
The missing individuals include 13 close relatives belonging to the same clan, while other missing men reportedly include Mujtaba Baloch, Razi Khan and Muhammad Khawar Iqbal.
The families said the prolonged lack of contact had caused severe distress and anxiety at their homes.
The affected families have appealed to Field Marshal, the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Foreign Minister to take urgent notice of the matter and establish immediate diplomatic contact with Saudi authorities to ensure the safe recovery of the missing men.
The families said that if the young men had allegedly committed any violation of Saudi law or were involved in any offence, complete information and evidence should be provided to their families.
They further appealed that if the men were not involved in any wrongdoing or had been detained due to a misunderstanding, they should be recovered immediately.
The families urged the Pakistani Embassy in Saudi Arabia to take urgent steps to determine the whereabouts and well-being of all 21 men and help reunite them with their loved ones.
