Love Marriage Dispute Escalates in Badin as Over 60 Houses Demolished

BADIN:A dispute over a love marriage has intensified in Golarchi’s Chak No. 5 area of Badin, where armed men allegedly demolished more than **60 houses** belonging to the Machhi community and forced the entire village to vacate.
According to the affected residents, the armed men also took household belongings worth millions of rupees and livestock with them. More than **600 people** have reportedly been forced to leave their homes as a result of the incident.
Police said the dispute began after **Nadeem Machhi and Alia Fatima** contracted a marriage of their choice a few days ago.
The couple said they had married of their own free will but claimed that the entire village was being punished for their decision.
The affected residents said they had submitted **12 applications** to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Badin, but no effective action was taken.
Residents have appealed to the authorities to provide protection, recover their belongings and take action against those allegedly responsible for the destruction of their homes.
