Gul Plaza Tragedy: Judicial Commission to Visit Affected Site on February 14

Karachi: A judicial commission formed to investigate the Gul Plaza tragedy has decided to visit the affected site to assess the situation firsthand.
According to sources, the commission, headed by Justice Agha Faisal, will inspect Gul Plaza on February 14 before summoning relevant government departments for inquiry proceedings.
The commission will conduct a detailed review of the building’s current condition and examine the circumstances surrounding the fire incident. It will assess the rescue and search operations carried out after the blaze, available access routes, and other emergency arrangements at the site.
Following the visit, the commission is expected to issue notices to concerned authorities, including the Fire Brigade, Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), rescue agencies, the Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA), and other relevant institutions, to appear before it as part of the investigation.
The visit aims to ensure a comprehensive and transparent inquiry into the incident and determine responsibility for any lapses.
