Strike Still On, Goods Transporters Urged to Maintain Unity: All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association

KARACHI: President of the All Pakistan Goods Transport Owners Association, Muhammad Owais Chaudhry, has rejected reports that the nationwide strike by goods transporters has ended, calling such reports baseless.

According to 24 News, Owais Chaudhry said the countrywide strike remained in force and would continue until all demands of the transporters were accepted.

He said there had been no final progress on the transporters’ demands so far and urged members of the community to maintain unity.

The association president said transporters remained firmly committed to their demands and position, while the doors for negotiations with the government remained open.

He said a deadlock between the government and transporters was still continuing.

Owais Chaudhry urged transporters not to pay attention to rumours and to rely only on verified information issued by the association.

He emphasized that the strike would only be called off after all the transporters’ demands were accepted.
