214 Schools Declared Unsafe in Jamshoro After Rains and Floods

JAMSHORO:The Education Works Department has declared **214 school buildings in Jamshoro district** dangerously unsafe due to damage caused by recent rains and floods, putting the lives of thousands of students and teachers at risk.
According to official reports, **172 of the affected schools are primary schools**, while **42 are higher secondary boys’ schools**, collectively hosting more than **10,000 students**. The department has advised the Education Department to **immediately shift students and staff to alternative buildings**, but despite the warning issued several days ago, classes are still being conducted in the same damaged structures.
Local residents have expressed grave concern over the situation, urging the provincial government to take urgent action. “Children’s lives are at risk every day. The government must provide safe alternatives without delay,” they demanded.
The deteriorating condition of schools has raised alarm about the **future of thousands of children**, whose education remains under threat until proper arrangements are made.
