No Power Can Stop Pakistan’s Journey of Victory, Says Balochistan CM
QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Ahmed Bugti has said that no power in the world can stop Pakistan’s journey toward what he described as a “decisive victory,” stressing that defence cooperation between Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan is aimed at self-defence and not aggression.
Speaking at the inauguration of the Rasool-e-Rehmat ﷺ calligraphy exhibition in Quetta on Tuesday, the chief minister announced that an international calligraphy exhibition titled “Bayan-ul-Marsous” would be held in Quetta in May next year.
He said renowned calligraphers and artists from the Islamic world, Turkey and other countries would be invited to participate in the event, while the Balochistan government would sponsor the international exhibition.
Sarfraz Bugti said the planned event would be held on May 9 and 10 and would be organized as a major two- or three-day international gathering. He directed the relevant authorities to begin preparations immediately.
The chief minister said organizing such an event during August, particularly around Pakistan’s Independence Day, sent a strong message that Balochistan had the capacity and determination to host international-standard programmes.
He said he had already requested calligrapher Wasif Shahid to organize the major international exhibition next May, adding that the Balochistan government would provide full support. Serena Hotels would host the event, as it had taken the initiative for the first exhibition.
Bugti said artists from the Islamic world, Turkey and other countries would be invited so that a message could be conveyed from Quetta to the world that the people of the city are peace-loving, appreciate the arts and have a deep connection with Islamic calligraphy.
He said calligraphy would also be included in this year’s events being organized under the theme of “Marka-e-Haq”, while next year’s major events would be held under the themes of “Bayan-ul-Marsous” and “Marka-e-Haq.”
Commenting on Pakistan’s international standing, the chief minister said the country’s prestige was increasing globally. He said the recent defence cooperation among the Islamic world, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and Pakistan reflected the changing regional situation.
He stressed that the cooperation was not intended for aggression but for self-defence.
Sarfraz Bugti also criticized violence and destruction in Balochistan, saying a limited group attempting to achieve its objectives through violence was pushing the Baloch people into a futile conflict.
He said the destruction of bridges and infrastructure ultimately harmed the people of Balochistan, while disrupting trade and damaging traders’ trucks also affected the livelihoods of ordinary citizens.
“The journey of Pakistan’s decisive victory cannot be stopped by any power in the world,” Bugti said, adding that the unity and spirit demonstrated by the nation were a matter of pride.
The chief minister praised Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, President Asif Ali Zardari and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for their services, saying the improvement in Pakistan’s international standing was also being positively felt among overseas Pakistanis.
Bugti thanked calligrapher Wasif Shahid and the management of Serena Hotels for organizing the exhibition and described the occasion as a proud day for Balochistan.
He prayed for Pakistan’s continued progress, prosperity and greater respect in the international community.
