Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Condemns Raid on Akhtar Mengal’s Residence, Calls for Dialogue
QUETTA: Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan Ameer and MPA Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman Baloch has strongly condemned the police raid on the Karachi residence of Balochistan National Party (BNP) leader Sardar Akhtar Jan Mengal and the arrest of his employees.
In a statement, Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman said such actions against political leaders, workers and their homes were a matter of serious concern and were unacceptable.
He urged the government to resolve political matters through negotiations and democratic means rather than through force and pressure.
The JI leader said it was the state’s responsibility to respect the sanctity of homes, human rights and political freedoms.
He warned that such measures could further increase political tensions and called for the immediate release of the arrested individuals.
Maulana Hidayat-ur-Rehman also demanded a transparent investigation into the incident and urged the authorities to take steps to prevent similar incidents in the future.
