Bilawal Bhutto Tells PML-N ‘Your Countdown Has Begun,’ Alleges Election Rigging in AJK
Islamabad: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has claimed that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is facing growing political pressure, declaring that its “countdown has begun.”
In a video message announcing a public rally in Bagh district of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), Bilawal alleged that the recent AJK elections were neither free nor transparent, describing them as “rigged.” Despite this, he said, the PPP secured victory on nine electoral seats.
Bilawal vowed to reclaim the seats in Mirpur and Muzaffarabad, which he alleged had been “stolen” from his party. He said the PPP would continue its political struggle, adding that the party does not lose courage, retreat, or abandon the political field.
Earlier, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon also alleged that the irregularities witnessed during Pakistan’s 2024 general elections had been repeated in the AJK polls.
Speaking to the media in Islamabad, Sharjeel Memon claimed that the governments in Punjab and at the federal level had worked together to prevent the PPP from winning. He described the alleged electoral manipulation as a continuation of what he referred to as the “Form-47 government” and called the latest developments “Form-47 Plus.”
The ruling PML-N and election authorities have previously rejected allegations of systematic election rigging.
