Trump Vows to End Ongoing Wars, Pledges to Make America Great Again in Victory Speech
Washington: In his victory speech following his win in the presidential election, Donald Trump announced his intention to end ongoing wars rather than start new ones. Speaking to supporters in West Palm Beach, Trump expressed his gratitude for the “magnificent movement” that helped secure a historic victory, adding that the purpose of this win is to heal the nation’s wounds.
“We have faced challenges no one should have to face, but this victory is a triumph for the American people,” Trump declared. He also highlighted the success of the campaign to regain control of the Senate and predicted a similar win in the House of Representatives, calling it a “remarkable victory” for the people of America. He further noted that he is expected to receive 315 electoral votes.
Trump took a moment to praise Elon Musk, calling him “a smart and capable man” who should be protected. The president-elect also referenced a recent assassination attempt on his life, suggesting that it was a sign he had been given “a second chance at life” with a mission to “make America great again.”
Trump emphasized that during his first term, he had not started any new wars and pointed to the defeat of ISIS as one of his major accomplishments. He also promised to maximize America’s vast oil reserves, saying, “We have more oil than Saudi Arabia or Russia. We will make full use of our energy resources.”
In terms of immigration, Trump reiterated his stance on legal immigration, stressing that those who wish to come to the U.S. must do so through legal means.
With this victory, Trump has secured 277 electoral votes, surpassing his rival Kamala Harris, who has 226 electoral votes. Additionally, Trump is leading in the popular vote, having surpassed 70 million votes, while Harris has received just over 60 million votes. In 2016, Trump won the presidency despite losing the popular vote, as he triumphed through the electoral college system.
Trump is set to become the 47th President of the United States, with his victory marking a major milestone in American politics.
