Attack on Judge in Mastung Reflects Failure of Government’s Writ in Balochistan, Says Hafiz Hamdullah
QUETTA: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) central leader Hafiz Hamdullah has strongly condemned the terrorist attack in Mastung that claimed the lives of Sessions Judge Abdul Hakeem Kakar and his security guard, saying the tragic incident is clear evidence that the state and the provincial government have failed to ensure the safety of the people in Balochistan.
In a statement, Hafiz Hamdullah expressed deep sorrow over the martyrdom of the Sessions Judge and his security guard and extended heartfelt condolences to their bereaved families. He also prayed for the speedy and complete recovery of those injured in the attack.
He criticized the provincial government, saying its role has been limited to issuing statements and holding press conferences, while the overall law and order situation continues to deteriorate. He questioned where the writ of the government and the state exists, alleging that the administration has lost the ability to fulfill its constitutional responsibility of protecting citizens.
Hafiz Hamdullah further said that indiscriminate attacks on passenger buses, the killing of innocent civilians, and the free movement of armed men on the Quetta-Karachi Highway have become routine, reflecting the worsening security situation across the province.
He reiterated his earlier claim that the provincial government’s writ extends only to Zarghoon Road, while security personnel remain focused on protecting a handful of important personalities. According to him, the lives and property of ordinary citizens are being neglected, leaving the public feeling increasingly insecure.
The JUI-F leader urged the government to take effective and practical measures to restore law and order, immediately arrest those involved in terrorist incidents, bring them to justice, and ensure the protection of the lives and property of the people of Balochistan.
