High Flood Reaches Head Qadirabad as Rising Chenab Waters Put Punjab on High Alert

A high-level flood has reached **Head Qadirabad** on the **Chenab River**, following earlier flooding at **Head Marala** and **Head Khanki**, prompting authorities to remain on high alert across parts of Punjab.

According to the **Flood Forecasting Division Lahore**, water inflow at Head Qadirabad has risen to **236,000 cusecs**, placing the barrage under a high flood category.

On the **Ravi River**, a **medium-level flood** has been recorded at **Head Balloki**, where the water flow has increased to **73,635 cusecs**.

Meanwhile, **low-level flooding** continues at **Nowshera** on the **Kabul River**, while similar flood conditions persist at **Kalabagh** and **Chashma Barrage** on the **Indus River**.

In **Balochistan**, the **Lehri River** in **Sibi Division** is experiencing a **high-level flood** at **Head Gogi**, where water discharge has been measured at **95,913 cusecs**.

Separately, rescue teams successfully evacuated all **five people** who had become stranded in the Chenab River near **Sialkot**. Rescue officials said the group had gone out for work, but their boat developed a fault while they were returning.

The latest developments come after India released a large volume of water into the Chenab River following heavy rainfall in Indian-administered Kashmir.

Pakistani authorities have warned that the increased water flow could trigger major flooding downstream and have placed **Sialkot** and **Wazirabad** on high alert as they continue to monitor the evolving flood situation.
