Pakistan Purchases Another Spot LNG Cargo at Lowest Bid

Islamabad: Pakistan has purchased another spot cargo of liquefied natural gas (LNG) after approving the lowest bid received in the latest tender, according to Pakistan LNG Limited (PLL).

PLL said bids were opened for the supply of an LNG cargo scheduled for delivery between July 15 and 16. A total of three bids were received for the tender.

The lowest bid, offered at $18.23 per million British thermal units (MMBtu), was accepted by the company.

According to PLL, the other two bids were submitted at $18.59 per MMBtu and $18.72 per MMBtu, respectively.

The procurement is part of Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to secure LNG supplies through the international spot market to meet domestic energy demand.
