JUI-F Senator Abdul Wasey Says Ziarat Killings Reflect Failure to Ensure Public Security

Quetta: Maulana Abdul Wasey has strongly criticized the government’s handling of the security situation following the killing of nine personnel in Ziarat, describing the incident as a reflection of the state’s failure to protect its citizens.

In a statement, the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) Balochistan chief said the recovery of the bodies of the nine abducted personnel highlighted the worsening law and order situation in the province.

Abdul Wasey said residents of Ziarat had been reporting since the previous night that several people had been abducted, but alleged that timely and decisive action was not taken. He claimed that the recovery of the bodies had confirmed public concerns about the security response.

The senator further stated that, according to available information, several individuals were still being held hostage and that every passing moment increased the risks to their lives.

He said delays, ineffective strategies, or routine statements were unacceptable under the circumstances, arguing that the government’s primary responsibility was to provide security for the public and law enforcement personnel rather than attend funeral ceremonies.

Abdul Wasey warned that if urgent and effective efforts were not made to secure the safe recovery of the remaining hostages, the government would bear political, administrative, and constitutional responsibility for any further loss of life.
