Karachi Court Grants Bail to Six Accused, Including Gul Plaza Association President Tanveer Pasta

Karachi: A sessions court in Karachi has granted bail to six accused, including Tanveer Pasta, the president of the Gul Plaza Market Association, in connection with the Gul Plaza incident case.

The hearing was conducted by an Additional District and Sessions Judge (South), who approved the bail applications of Tanveer Pasta and five other accused, including an 11-year-old boy identified as Huzaifa.

During the proceedings, the court questioned why the minor’s bail application had been filed before the sessions court, observing that cases involving juveniles fall under the jurisdiction of a designated juvenile court.

The court also noted that the police had not arrested the accused despite the registration of the case. It further observed that the charge sheet had been rejected twice and that investigators had resubmitted it without addressing the earlier objections.

The court directed the adult accused to furnish surety bonds of Rs500,000 each as a condition for bail.

Meanwhile, the court granted bail to the minor accused, Huzaifa, against a surety bond of Rs10,000.

The criminal proceedings in the Gul Plaza case will continue in accordance with the law.
