ISPR Says Eight Suspected Militants Killed in Two Intelligence-Based Operations in Balochistan

Rawalpindi: Pakistan’s security forces killed eight suspected militants during two intelligence-based operations conducted in the Balochistan districts of Kharan and Mastung on June 25 and 26, according to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

In a statement, the ISPR said the operations targeted what it described as the Indian-backed militant group “Fitna al-Hindustan.”

According to the military, the first operation was carried out on June 25 in Kharan after intelligence reports indicated the presence and movement of suspected militants in the area. Security forces engaged the group, killing three suspected militants and injuring several others.

The ISPR said a second intelligence-based operation was launched on June 26 in Mastung following information regarding the presence of a suspected suicide bomber. During an exchange of fire, security forces targeted the alleged militant hideout, killing five suspected militants, including the suspected suicide bomber.

The military said security forces recovered a cache of weapons, ammunition, improvised explosive devices (IEDs), and motorcycles allegedly used by the suspects during the operations.

According to the ISPR, a clearance operation is continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants allegedly operating with foreign backing.

The statement added that, under the Azm-e-Istehkam vision approved by the National Action Plan’s Federal Apex Committee, Pakistan’s security forces and law enforcement agencies will continue counterterrorism operations until what it described as foreign-sponsored terrorism is eliminated from the country.
