Balochistan CM Vows Justice for Martyred Officer, Warns Violent Elements Will Face Law

QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has said that individuals who target state officials under the guise of peaceful protest cannot escape the law, reaffirming the government’s commitment to justice and the rule of law.

In a statement posted on social media platform X, the chief minister said that justice in the murder case of martyred officer Shabbir Baloch, achieved after a two-year legal battle, reflects the supremacy of the law. He stated that Shabbir Baloch sacrificed his life while performing his duty and that the state would always remember his service and sacrifice.

Bugti said the court’s verdict had demonstrated that there would be no leniency for those who take the law into their own hands or promote violence. He added that elements involved in attacking state personnel while hiding behind peaceful demonstrations would not be able to evade legal accountability.

The chief minister emphasized that the Government of Balochistan stands firmly with the family of the martyred officer and shares in their grief. He pledged that Shabbir Baloch’s sacrifice would not be allowed to go in vain, stressing that delivering justice remains one of the state’s foremost responsibilities.

He further stated that violence, unrest and lawlessness would not be tolerated in Balochistan, adding that operations against terrorists, their facilitators and supporters would continue with full force.

Bugti also reiterated that the state’s campaign against enemies of peace in Balochistan would continue until the elimination of the last terrorist. He praised the services and sacrifices of law enforcement personnel, describing them as the foundation for lasting peace and the strengthening of the state’s authority in the province.
