Balochistan Budget Automated to Eliminate Corruption, Rs1.5 Billion Allocated to Combat Malnutrition: Bakht Muhammad Kakar

Quetta: Provincial Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar has said that the Balochistan government has presented an excellent budget despite challenging circumstances, emphasizing that the budget process has been automated to permanently eliminate corruption and bogus development schemes.
Speaking during the budget debate in the Balochistan Assembly, Kakar stated that previously only two District Headquarters (DHQ) hospitals in the province had access to uninterrupted electricity. He announced that the government is now planning to provide reliable power supply to all DHQ hospitals across Balochistan through a project costing Rs1.5 billion.
He added that he would request Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti to direct the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) to complete the scheme within six months.
The minister said that by automating the budget system, the government has closed avenues for corruption and the inclusion of fictitious projects. He further announced that Rs1.5 billion has been allocated to address child malnutrition in the province.
Kakar noted that the government is closely monitoring the health sector and that daily performance reports are being sought from all hospitals under the Health Department.
He also announced that the health facility at the Hinglaj Mata Mandir pilgrimage site will be upgraded to a BHU Plus (Basic Health Unit Plus) to improve healthcare services for residents and visitors.
