If We Give One Call, Entire Pakistan Will Move Towards Islamabad: Maulana Fazlur Rehman

Charsadda: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has said that if his party issues a single call, people from across Pakistan would move towards Islamabad, warning the government against what he called poor governance.
Addressing the “Shaheed-e-Islam Conference” in Charsadda, he criticized the ruling authorities, saying they are not capable of running the government effectively. He added that political matters should be handled wisely, warning that continued mismanagement could force large-scale public mobilization.
Using a metaphor, he said that if oil comes out of a container easily, it is fine, otherwise “one has to twist the finger,” implying pressure tactics if demands are not met.
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said the killing of Maulana Sheikh Idris was not just a loss for one family but for the entire Muslim community. He added that such sacrifices would not weaken their resolve.
He further stated that his movement aims to bring an Islamic transformation in the country and that acts of violence or intimidation would not deter them.
The JUI-F leader said his party carries a 200-year historical legacy and claimed that peace existed when religious scholars led the region. He argued that instability increased after leadership was taken away from religious figures.
He criticized the current leadership, saying they are unfit to govern, and added that every Pakistani is now searching for peace. He also rejected politics based on ethnicity and regional divisions, saying such ideologies have failed and been rejected by his party.
