TikTok Removes Over 28 Million Videos in Pakistan for Community Guidelines Violations

Islamabad: Social media platform TikTok has removed a total of **28,198,284 videos in Pakistan** for violating its Community Guidelines, according to the company’s latest transparency report.

The report covers the **third quarter of fiscal year 2025–26 (July to September)** and outlines TikTok’s efforts to identify and remove harmful content in order to ensure a safer and more positive experience for users worldwide.

During this period, **99.8 percent of the violating videos in Pakistan were detected through automated systems**, while **95.9 percent were removed within 24 hours of being uploaded**. TikTok stated that its automated technology handles most enforcement actions, while human moderation teams focus on cases requiring contextual judgment, such as appeals, expert input, and responses to emerging trends.

Globally, TikTok removed **204 million videos** during the same quarter, representing around **0.7 percent of all uploaded content**. Of these, **186,608,081 videos were identified through automated detection**, while **8,950,735 videos were restored after review**. The platform reported a **99.3 percent proactive removal rate**, with **94.8 percent of flagged content taken down within 24 hours**.

In addition, TikTok removed **118,618,399 fake accounts worldwide** to maintain platform integrity. The company also deleted **22,226,542 accounts suspected of belonging to users under the age of 13**.

According to the report, **30 percent of the removed videos contained sensitive or adult content**, while **15.7 percent violated safety and decency standards**, and **2.7 percent breached privacy and security policies**. Furthermore, **32.9 percent of the deleted videos were flagged as misinformation**, and **34.4 percent were identified as altered media or AI-generated content**.

TikTok said the report reflects its continued commitment to enforcing community standards, enhancing transparency, and providing users with a **safe and trustworthy digital environment**.
