Five Terrorists Killed in Security Forces Operation in Nushki; Quetta–Taftan Highway Reopened

Nushki (Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Daily) — Security forces in Balochistan’s Nushki district successfully foiled an attempt by terrorists to block the Quetta–Taftan national highway, killing five militants in a swift and effective operation, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR stated that armed terrorists had set up barricades on the Quetta–Taftan highway in an effort to disrupt traffic and suspend movement along the key route. Security forces responded promptly, cordoned off the area, and launched an operation against the militants.

During an intense exchange of fire, five terrorists were killed while other accomplices managed to escape. Following the operation, security forces launched a search operation in surrounding areas to ensure the complete elimination of any remaining threat.

Passengers and vehicles stranded on the highway were safely evacuated to secure locations during the clearance operation.

Authorities said the Quetta–Taftan highway is a vital route for international trade and inter-district connectivity in Balochistan, and any attempt to disrupt its functionality would be dealt with firmly.

After the successful operation, traffic on the highway has been fully restored, and the situation has been brought under control. The ISPR reaffirmed that operations against elements attempting to destabilize peace in Balochistan will continue, and the protection of citizens’ lives and property remains a top priority.
