Sources said that during the period from July 2025 to April 2026, the total losses of state-owned power distribution companies stood at Rs 226 billion.
They added that this reflects a decrease of Rs 66 billion compared to the same period last year.
The breakdown shows that Rs 169 billion of the losses were attributed to inefficiencies and electricity theft, while Rs 57 billion were recorded due to recovery-related shortfalls.
