Immediate Attention Needed for Serious Issues in Balochistan, Public Facing Hardships: Jamal Shah Kakar
Quetta (Kudrat Daily) — Pakistan Muslim League (N) Balochistan General Secretary and Member of the National Assembly Jamal Shah Kakar has called on federal and provincial authorities to urgently address the serious issues facing Balochistan.
In his statement, he said that the province is currently grappling with insecurity, unemployment, road blockades, and communication problems, due to which the public, traders, transporters, and farmers are facing severe difficulties.
Jamal Shah Kakar said that he had raised the issue of a Pashtun girl from Peshawar in the National Assembly, after which her safe recovery became possible. He also expressed gratitude to Federal Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, State Minister Talal Chaudhry, and the Chief Minister of Sindh for their cooperation in the matter.
He added that national highways in Balochistan remain blocked, internet services are disrupted, and business activities have come to a standstill. The Chamber of Commerce, traders, transporters, and farmers have staged a complete wheel-jam and shutter-down strike, demanding restoration of law and order.
The MNA said that trucks are being set on fire on highways and incidents of violence and killings are increasing. If the situation is not controlled, hostile elements may exploit it to create hatred between Baloch and Pashtun communities.
He emphasized that Baloch and Pashtun people are bound by brotherhood and cannot be turned against each other, stressing the need for collective efforts for peace and stability.
Jamal Shah Kakar further said that unemployment and insecurity have already burdened the public, and the recent significant increase in air ticket prices by private airlines has added to their hardships, with fares rising from 30,000 rupees to as high as 100,000 rupees.
He urged authorities to seriously address Balochistan’s issues, improve law and order, and ensure a conducive environment for employment, travel, and business activities.
