PPP Emerges as Largest Party in Gilgit-Baltistan Polls, Says Bilawal Bhutto

Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has reacted to the unofficial results of the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly elections, claiming that the PPP is emerging as the largest political party in the region.
In a statement posted on X, Bilawal Bhutto said, “Arrows are raining in Gilgit-Baltistan,” referring to the PPP’s election symbol. He expressed confidence that the party would secure enough support to form the next government in the region.
“We are grateful to the people for their trust and support,” he said, adding that the PPP would make every effort to establish a government in Gilgit-Baltistan.
According to the latest unofficial and unconfirmed results, outcomes from 12 of the 24 assembly seats have been finalized. The PPP has won seven seats, while independent candidates secured three seats. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM) won one seat each.
The PPP claimed victory in constituencies GBA-4, GBA-5, GBA-7, GBA-9, GBA-10, GBA-11, and GBA-19. PML-N won GBA-22, while MWM secured GBA-8. Independent candidates emerged victorious in GBA-3, GBA-23, and GBA-24.
With counting and result compilation still underway in the remaining constituencies, the overall political landscape in Gilgit-Baltistan continues to take shape.
