QESCO Initiates Action Against Officers Over Poor Performance, Issues Show-Cause Notices to Multiple Engineers and SDOs

Quetta: In line with directives from the Ministry of Energy (Power Division), the Quetta Electric Supply Company (QESCO) has launched disciplinary action against officials over delays in resolving consumer complaints and overall poor operational performance.
According to QESCO Chief Executive Officer Engineer Yousuf Shah Khan, several officers have been issued show-cause notices due to their failure to promptly address complaints registered on the 118 helpline and for unsatisfactory performance in their respective field operations.
He stated that officials deployed in field operations were identified for their below-par performance, which adversely affected the company’s overall operational efficiency.
The CEO emphasized that ensuring uninterrupted power supply and swift resolution of consumer complaints remains QESCO’s top priority. He also added that officers and staff demonstrating better performance will be encouraged and recognized.
As part of the action, Executive Engineers (XENs) from multiple operational divisions, including Quetta, Zarghoon, Sariab, Loralai, Pishin, Qilla Abdullah, Qilla Saifullah, Kalat, Nushki, Sibi, Nasirabad, Turbat, and Gwadar, have been held accountable.
Similarly, Sub-Divisional Officers (SDOs) from various subdivisions such as Mariabad, Cantt, Liaquat Bazaar, Gulmandi, Satellite Town, Kharani, Kuchlak, Sibi, Jafarabad, Dera Murad Jamali, Usta Muhammad, Turbat, Gwadar, Pasni, Loralai, Zhob, Ziarat, Chaman, and other areas have also faced departmental proceedings over poor performance.
