U.S. Secretary of State Rubio Claims Role in Preventing India-Pakistan Conflict Escalation

WASHINGTON:U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio has said that the United States played a role in helping de-escalate tensions between India and Pakistan, as well as facilitating other diplomatic breakthroughs.
Speaking before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Rubio stated that Washington helped bring about a peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia. He also referenced the situation between India and Pakistan, claiming that U.S. diplomatic and mediation efforts contributed to ending what he described as a conflict between the two nuclear-armed neighbors.
Rubio said that the United States remains actively engaged in global diplomacy and continues to pursue negotiations in multiple regions simultaneously.
He added that U.S. involvement in international mediation has led to several notable diplomatic achievements, underscoring Washington’s ongoing efforts to manage and reduce global conflicts.
