Seven Tourists Killed as Vehicle Falls into Ravine in Chilas

Islamabad (Khabar Desk) — At least seven people, including the driver, lost their lives when a tourist vehicle plunged into a deep ravine on the Fairy Meadows Road in Chilas, Gilgit-Baltistan.

According to police, the tragic accident occurred when the vehicle carrying tourists lost control while traveling along the mountainous route and fell into a gorge.

Rescue teams, police officials, and local volunteers immediately reached the site and launched rescue operations after receiving information about the incident.

Authorities confirmed that all seven passengers onboard the vehicle died in the accident, including the driver.

Initial reports suggest that the accident may have been caused by overspeeding, difficult terrain, or loss of control of the vehicle. However, officials said the exact cause will be determined after a complete investigation.

Police added that among the deceased, two tourists were from Peshawar while four belonged to Punjab. The bodies were shifted to a nearby hospital for legal formalities.
