Quetta–Chaman Highway Reopened After Successful Talks Following Qila Abdullah Tragedy

Quetta: The Quetta–Chaman Highway has been reopened after successful negotiations between protesters and the administration following demonstrations over the killing of five people, including a prominent football player, in the Qila Abdullah tragedy.

According to tribal elder Sardar Muhammad Khondai, the road blockade was lifted after talks between political leaders, tribal elders, and government officials resulted in an agreement.

The protest had been launched against the killing of five individuals, among them a well-known footballer, with demonstrators demanding justice and action against those responsible.

The negotiations were attended by leaders from several political parties and tribal representatives, including Zamrak Khan Achakzai of the Awami National Party, Dr. Hameed Khan Achakzai of the Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Rabbani Khan Kakar, and tribal elder Malik Shah Jan Kakar.

Following the successful dialogue, both sides agreed to restore traffic on the key highway linking Quetta and Chaman, easing travel and trade activities in the region.

Political and tribal leaders expressed hope that the concerns of the victims’ families would be addressed and that authorities would ensure a transparent investigation into the killings.
