Pakistani Authorities Crack Down on Anti-State Propaganda Network
Islamabad: Law enforcement agencies in Pakistan have intensified their efforts against individuals spreading organized propaganda against the government and state institutions, successfully targeting a network led by Jibran Ilyas.
According to official media reports, a joint investigation team (JIT) meeting chaired by IG Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi reviewed the situation regarding the anti-state campaign and propaganda on social media. The JIT has already interrogated eight individuals allegedly involved in the state-disrupting online campaign.
During the meeting, it was revealed that Jibran Ilyas, identified as a central figure in the anti-state propaganda movement, has been summoned for questioning at the next meeting. The investigation team reported that Ilyas played a key role in activities aimed at undermining state institutions and the government.
The JIT indicated that significant evidence has been gathered regarding other individuals involved in the anti-state propaganda efforts led by Ilyas, and they are actively collecting further information about his associates to expand the investigation.
The meeting emphasized that Jibran Ilyas has emerged as a pivotal character in the anti-state campaign, collaborating with both domestic and foreign elements. It was suggested that Ilyas and his associates were involved in various activities aimed at destabilizing public order and sowing discontent within the country.
The JIT also drew attention to the coordinated use of social media platforms by Ilyas and his network to weaken government authority. While more details about Ilyas’s network are emerging, investigators are focusing on gathering additional evidence.
This crackdown reflects the government’s commitment to vigorously counter deliberate attempts to destabilize the country through misinformation and propaganda.
