Heavy Rain and Hailstorm Disrupt Power Supply Across Lahore, Over 100 Feeders Trip

LAHORE:Heavy rain and hailstorm lashed several parts of Lahore, disrupting the city’s electricity network and causing widespread power outages after more than 100 power feeders tripped.
Rainfall was recorded in numerous areas, including Gulberg, Garhi Shahu, Abbott Road, Regal Chowk, Lakshmi Chowk, Muslim Town, Model Town, and Mall Road. Showers were also reported in Dharampura, Journalists Colony, Jail Road, Kalma Chowk, Manga Mandi, Ferozepur Road, and several other localities.
According to sources within the Lahore Electric Supply Company, the intense downpour severely affected the electricity distribution system, resulting in the shutdown of more than 100 feeders across the city.
LESCO officials stated that restoration work will begin once the weather conditions improve and the rainfall subsides, adding that technical teams are monitoring the situation and will work to restore electricity to affected areas as quickly as possible.
The rain brought temporary relief from the ongoing heatwave but also created difficulties for residents due to power disruptions and adverse weather conditions.
