Pakistan Decides to Repay UAE Loan of $2 Billion

Islamabad (Qudrat Daily) – Pakistan has decided to repay its $2 billion loan to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to sources, the amount, which was held in Pakistan’s account as a safe deposit, will be returned to Abu Dhabi by the end of this month.

Ministry of Finance sources stated that Pakistan was paying 6% interest on the loan. The UAE had previously rolled over the amount annually, and later in December 2025, it was extended for one month and then for two months.

Sources said that given the current international situation, the UAE had requested the immediate return of the funds.
