Salman Ali Agha Emerges as Strong Candidate for Pakistan Test Captaincy

Pakistan national cricket team is reportedly considering a leadership change in Test cricket following a series of disappointing results, with T20 captain Salman Ali Agha emerging as a strong candidate for the Test captaincy.

According to sources, the decision comes after consecutive Test series defeats against Bangladesh, prompting the management to reassess the team’s leadership structure.

Reports suggest that Salman Ali Agha is likely to take over the Test side for the upcoming two-match series against the West Indies scheduled for July.

Meanwhile, current Test captain Shan Masood is facing scrutiny after a difficult run of results. Under his leadership, Pakistan played 16 Test matches, winning only 4 and losing 12.

Following the defeat in the Sylhet Test against Bangladesh, there are also reports of strained relations among players, with limited communication during the team’s return tour.

The final decision regarding the captaincy is expected to be announced ahead of the West Indies series.
