Pakistan Welcomes Positive Momentum in Bilateral Relations with Bangladesh, Says Attaullah Tarar

ISLAMABAD: Attaullah Tarar, Pakistan’s Federal Minister for Information, has welcomed the positive progress in bilateral relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh, saying both countries are committed to enhancing connectivity, mutual trust and constructive cooperation.

He made these remarks while speaking to a delegation of senior Bangladeshi civil service officers currently visiting Pakistan.

During the meeting, both sides discussed matters of mutual interest, including governance systems, administrative reforms and institutional capacity building.

Tariq Fatemi, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister, and Federal Secretary for Information Ashfaq Ahmed Khalil were also present on the occasion.

The information minister briefed the delegation on ongoing reforms and government policies in Pakistan. He described the Executive Development Program between the civil services of Pakistan and Bangladesh as a significant development in recent decades.

Tarar noted that both countries share historical ties along with a common administrative and governance heritage. He added that Pakistan places special importance on institutional cooperation and exchange of experiences with friendly countries.


The minister also stressed the need to further strengthen cooperation between training and capacity-building institutions of both countries through faculty exchanges, joint research initiatives and development of training modules.

He appreciated the successful organization of the program under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor by the Civil Services Academy.

Members of the Bangladeshi delegation expressed keen interest in Pakistan’s administrative structure and reform initiatives across various sectors. The meeting was described as positive and constructive for strengthening bilateral ties and professional collaboration.

Speaking at the meeting, Tariq Fatemi emphasized the importance of promoting professional relations and institutional cooperation between Pakistan and Bangladesh. He said strong bilateral engagement is essential for fostering regional harmony and mutual understanding.

Meanwhile, Syed Shabbir Akbar Zaidi, Director CTP at the Civil Services Academy, gave the delegation a detailed briefing on the academy’s objectives, modern training systems, course modules, study programs and various capacity-building initiatives.
