Key Progress in Sapphire Soda Ash Project as SIFC Facilitates Water Supply Approval

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s industrial and chemical sectors continue to witness progress in strategic projects under the facilitation of the Special Investment Facilitation Council (SIFC), with a major development reported in the Sapphire Soda Ash Production Project.

According to official sources, 2.7 cusecs of water have been allocated from the Muhajir Canal in Khushab for the Sapphire Soda Ash Project, ensuring the operational capacity required for the plant.

Soda ash is a key industrial raw material widely used in the production of glass, detergents, textiles and various chemical products. Increased local production of soda ash is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s industrial base, reduce reliance on imports and improve supply chain stability.

The Sapphire Soda Ash Project is also expected to boost the country’s manufacturing capacity and support industrial economic growth. Officials say the project will generate new employment opportunities and contribute significantly to economic activity.

Authorities stated that SIFC’s active facilitation is playing an important role in promoting investment-driven industrial development and long-term economic stability in Pakistan.
