Pakistan’s Passport Climbs Two Places in Global Ranking, Remains Among World’s Weakest
Pakistan’s passport has improved by **two places** in the latest global passport rankings, moving from **103rd to 101st**, but it remains among the world’s weakest travel documents, ranking ahead of only **Iraq, Syria, and Afghanistan**.
According to the **2026 Henley Passport Index**, Pakistani passport holders can now travel to **29 countries and territories** without obtaining a visa in advance, either through visa-free or visa-on-arrival access.
The **Henley Passport Index**, published by the global citizenship and residence advisory firm **Henley & Partners**, evaluates **199 passports** against access to **227 travel destinations** worldwide.
The index measures the strength of a passport based on the number of destinations its holders can enter without obtaining a visa before departure. Henley & Partners noted that visa policies may be affected by changing travel restrictions in certain cases.
In the latest rankings, **Singapore** retained the **top position** as the world’s most powerful passport, while **India** ranked **81st**. **Afghanistan** remained at the bottom of the index as the world’s weakest passport.
