Payal Sarkar Reveals She Was Dropped from Multiple Projects at the Last Moment
Mumbai: Indian actress Payal Sarkar has shared her experiences in the Bengali film industry, revealing that she was repeatedly removed from several projects at the last moment over the past few years.
During an interview, the actress acknowledged that the film industry and politics are often interconnected, but said this should not result in political influence dictating the industry’s decisions.
She stated that due to excessive political influence, many deserving individuals are being sidelined, which she believes should not happen.
Payal Sarkar added that she has been working in the industry for over 20 years and has collaborated with several major names, giving her a clear understanding of how the industry has changed over time.
She further revealed that she herself has been a victim of such practices, claiming she was removed from projects two to three times after being initially approached. According to her, she would often be called for script readings, only to be informed later that the project was postponed or cancelled for her.
The actress clarified that she does not want to name anyone, as it would not make a difference, but emphasized that such incidents have happened multiple times in her career.
