Ministry Warns Public Against Hajj Visa Fraud

Islamabad: Pakistan’s Ministry of Religious Affairs has warned citizens against ongoing Hajj visa fraud, stating that the Hajj visa system was closed two months ago and any claim of obtaining a Hajj visa at this stage is fraudulent.

According to an official statement issued by the ministry, the public has been urged to remain cautious and avoid falling victim to scammers and fake agents offering illegal Hajj visas.

Meanwhile, Chairman of the Pakistan Ulema Council and Secretary General of the International Council for the Respect of the Two Holy Mosques, Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mahmood Ashrafi, appealed to pilgrims to strictly follow the code of conduct issued by Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Hajj and Umrah.

He emphasized that performing Hajj without an official permit is both legally and religiously impermissible. Pakistani pilgrims residing in Saudi Arabia were also advised not to attempt Hajj without proper authorization.

The code of conduct further advises pilgrims to gather complete information before departing for Hajj or Umrah to avoid difficulties during the pilgrimage rituals. It also highlights that Saudi authorities are making extensive efforts to facilitate and serve pilgrims visiting the holy sites.

Religious leaders and officials urged pilgrims to fully comply with Saudi laws and regulations and avoid involvement in any political activities during Hajj.

The statement also warned people against booking Hajj or Umrah through unregistered travel groups or online platforms that are not officially authorized.

Pilgrims were encouraged to maintain sincerity of intention for worship and avoid unnecessary photo and video activities during Hajj and Umrah. They were also advised to seek proper guidance and follow the procedures set by the Ministry of Religious Affairs or their authorized Hajj group organizers throughout their journey.
