Pakistan Army Steps In to Save Two Pakistani Children after India’s Inhumane Deportation

Rawalpindi:In a remarkable display of humanitarian efforts, **Pakistan Army** has taken charge of the medical treatment of two Pakistani children, **Abdullah (9 years)** and **Minsa (7 years)**, who were forcibly deported by Indian authorities while undergoing treatment for congenital heart disease in India. The children have now been transferred to the **Armed Forces Institute of Cardiology (AFIC)** in Rawalpindi, where they are receiving free and top-notch medical care.

### **Children’s Medical Journey and India’s Inhumane Deportation**

The children, hailing from **Hyderabad, Sindh**, have been suffering from **Tetralogy of Fallot**, a complex congenital heart condition. Their father, **Shahid Ahmed**, after a years-long struggle, was able to obtain an Indian visa for their treatment and traveled with them to **Faridabad, India**, on **April 21, 2025**. After medical tests and confirmation of surgery on **April 23**, the children were told by Indian authorities to leave the country within **48 hours** on **April 24**, despite the critical need for surgery.

Shahid Ahmed condemned the Indian government’s actions, calling them a result of the **”extremist and inhumane policies”** of Prime Minister **Narendra Modi’s government**. He expressed deep disappointment, stating, “Humanity is above all religions. Even Hinduism teaches compassion and service, but India has shown its blind animosity towards Pakistan by deporting us while our children are suffering.”

### **Pakistan Army’s Swift Humanitarian Action**

In response to this injustice, **Pakistan’s Army Chief, General Asim Munir**, took swift action, assuming responsibility for the children’s medical care. The children were transferred to **AFIC** in Rawalpindi, Pakistan, where they are being treated with advanced medical technology and expertise.

“I am deeply grateful to the Army Chief for listening to my plea and providing my children with the best possible treatment,” said Shahid Ahmed, who now feels reassured that his children are in capable hands.

### **AFIC: Providing World-Class Cardiac Care**

Dr. **Mahboob Sultan** of AFIC explained that the children have **holes in their hearts** and weakened pulmonary arteries, making them candidates for surgery to correct **Tetralogy of Fallot**. Dr. Sultan further assured that **AFIC** is fully equipped to handle such complex conditions, stating, “There is no need for them to go abroad for treatment as we have successfully treated similar cases in the past.”

**Brigadier Dr. Khurram Akhtar** also highlighted that **AFIC** is one of the **Pakistan Army’s premier cardiac hospitals**, offering treatments that meet international standards. “We are pleased to give these innocent children the gift of life,” he added.

### **A Message of Compassion and Humanity**

This incident underscores the stark contrast between the policies of **India**, which have been criticized for their lack of empathy, and the humanitarian approach taken by **Pakistan**. Despite the political tensions, Pakistan has once again demonstrated its commitment to the well-being and safety of its citizens.

This humanitarian effort by **Pakistan Army** sets an example of how compassion and service to humanity can transcend national borders and political divides. As the world watches, Pakistan has shown that protecting the lives of innocent children is a priority, regardless of the challenges.
