Attacks on Women Personnel and Teachers Are Open Terrorism, Says Balochistan Home Assistant Babur Yousafzai

QUETTA: Assistant to the Interior Department of Balochistan, Babur Yousafzai, has strongly condemned recent attacks targeting women police personnel, teachers, and civilians in the province, calling them acts of “open terrorism.”

In a statement issued in Quetta, he said that a female police constable, Shakila, was martyred earlier in the day in front of children, terming the incident a brutal act of violence and an example of extremist mindset.

He further alleged that the group he referred to as “Fitna al Hindustan” is deliberately targeting women, educators, and innocent civilians to destabilize the province and block access to education. He said such attacks demonstrate a complete disregard for humanity, women, and children.

Babur Yousafzai stated that the martyrdom of the lady constable would not go in vain, adding that the attack involved heavy firing and reflected extreme brutality. He also claimed that educational institutions and academic figures were being targeted as part of a broader agenda to spread fear and obstruct education in Balochistan.

He referred to the killing of Brahui poet and professor Ghamkhwar Hayat in a separate incident and expressed concern over the alleged kidnapping of academic figures, including Dr. Razaq Sabir, Pro-Vice Chancellor of Gwadar University, and Dr. Manzoor.

He said that the people of Balochistan, along with security forces, remain united against terrorism and will continue efforts to defeat those who seek to spread fear, ignorance, and instability in the province.
