Trump Calls China Visit ‘Historic,’ Announces Major Trade Agreements

U.S. President Donald Trump has described his recent visit to China as successful and historic, saying the trip resulted in major trade agreements and strengthened ties between Washington and Beijing.
Speaking to reporters at the White House after returning from China, Trump said the United States now enjoys “excellent relations” with China and hinted that more details about the agreements would be revealed soon.
Earlier, while talking to journalists, Trump said he would not oppose suspending Iran’s nuclear program for 20 years, provided Tehran demonstrates genuine commitment to any agreement.
The U.S. president also revealed that his discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping included talks on reducing nuclear weapons and the Taiwan issue.
Trump stated that there has been no change in America’s policy toward Taiwan and expressed confidence that a conflict over the island is unlikely in the near future.
He further noted that the United States has not yet approved any new weapons supply to Taiwan.
