‘Main Khiladi Tu Anari’ Was a Copy of Hollywood Film, Admits Saif Ali Khan

Mumbai: Bollywood actor Saif Ali Khan has made a surprising admission, revealing that his popular film Main Khiladi Tu Anari was actually copied from the Hollywood movie The Hard Way without acquiring official rights.
In an interview with Indian media, Saif Ali Khan reflected on his early career and recalled working in a 1990s comedy film where he first appeared in a police uniform. He said his character was part of a storyline in which he learned from another character played by Akshay Kumar.
Saif admitted with a laugh that the film was directly inspired by the Hollywood production and that no legal rights were obtained for its adaptation.
He further shared that a director once advised him to avoid playing police officer roles, saying he did not appear suitable for such characters.
The actor said this advice affected his confidence for a long time, although he later went on to portray a police officer in the acclaimed series Sacred Games.
Saif Ali Khan added that he often felt unsure about convincingly playing law enforcement roles, but over time he improved his acting skills and overcame his doubts.
He is currently busy preparing for his upcoming film Kartooya.
