Shahid Afridi Urges Parents to Keep Children Away From Excessive Mobile Phone Use

KARACHI: Former Pakistan cricket captain Shahid Afridi has urged parents to protect their children from excessive mobile phone use, calling it a growing “disease” affecting the younger generation.
In his statement, Afridi revealed that he gave mobile phones to his daughters only after their marriage, emphasizing the importance of proper upbringing and parental guidance.
He said parents should pay special attention to the character building and moral development of their children and discourage unnecessary use of mobile devices from an early age.
According to Afridi, excessive dependence on smartphones is increasingly becoming a serious social issue that can negatively impact the mental and ethical development of young people.
The former cricketer also appealed to parents to encourage their children to participate in positive and healthy activities instead of spending excessive time on mobile phones and digital platforms.
